Cuisine Road show: A new cooking competition program on Burkina's National Television

The Pixxelis Agency, in partnership with the Radio Broadcasting Television of Burkina (RTB), presented, this Wednesday, July 29, 2020 in Ouagadougou, the new culinary competition program called “Cuisine Road Show (CRS)” which will be broadcast on the national channel . It is a reality show, which competes candidates from several regions of Burkina Faso. After the selection phase with 171 registered candidates, 18 women selected in the cities of Ouagadougou, Bobo-Dioulasso, Fada N’Gourma, Gaoua and Koudougou will compete against each other throughout the program.
While being in their personal environment, applicants will have to prove their ability to market on a budget they ignore in advance, before being graded on the preparation and quality of the dish. Cuisine Road Show includes four major stages named in local languages.
Pilot phase of the program
During the "Nansongô" phase (cooking in Dioula), each candidate draws lots for the man who will give her the money to do the market. It is only on the way to get the condiments that the candidate discovers the value of her meals.
In the second phase, “Top Raaga” (raaga means “market” in Mooré), the candidate must buy the condiments at a specific time. In the third step, there is “Lidjé Naam” (preparation, in gulmacema). This is the cooking phase of the dishes of candidates who have returned from the market. In the last part of the competition, called “Waar Nyaamou” (tasting, in the Fulfuldé language), the quality of the dishes is judged.

As for the prices, the director of the show, Ben Moussa Boudané, specified that for the first time in this type of show, the candidates who will not be among the first three, will automatically receive the sum of 50,000 CFA francs. At the end of the season, the first will win a sum of one million CFA francs, a cooking training course at the "La Perle" restaurant and a set of household appliances. The second will come out with the sum of 500,000 CFA francs, and the third will have 250,000 francs.

“For the credibility of the game, we have decided to establish rules for this competition. We have already made a legal deposit with the bailiff Coulibaly ", adds Ben Moussa Boudané.
Note that each episode will last 26 minutes. The contest will run once a week for thirteen weeks. The first episodes will be broadcast in August 2020 in Prime time.
